I have these orange universal instep straps on a pair of beat summer OR gaiters held together by Tenacious Tape.
These orange straps were a recomendation from here I suppose...
I looked but haven't found replacements yet.
DIY it with leather straps?
I have been making OR style gaiters for awhile now. I tried many materials for the strap under the boot sole. What I use now for most of the styles I create now is old school crampon straps I get on eBay. I punch holes as I need them and add buckles if they don’t have them. They are quite dependable, strong, easy to adjust yet a bit heavy for a “summer” style gaiter. For very light weight spandex style gaiter I will use grommets and cord, or select lightweight belts I find at thrift stores.
I tried many things when my straps broke on my OR Crocks and went to OR and they told me they had no replacements, and gave me a new pair, so there’s that.

Thanks for the recs!
On my last hike I used cord I had laying around.
Just found my other gaiters while organizing.
I was wondering what the lifespan of the instep strap is.
