Wednesday had the only clear weather forecast so far this month, so I went out to tag a bunch of peaks above the Greenwater Road and end with sunset at the Kelly Butte Lookout. Colquhoun 5173 featured a frosty trail to the top and a bit of a view of Rainier. Pechugh 5505 was off-trail and snowiest on top, with a nice view of Kelly Butte along the way. Sawmill Ridge 5207 had a bit of boot trail up the open crest at the top. Kelly Butte 5400 was surprisingly warm and comfortable for a late afternoon break followed by sunset dinner and tea on the balcony. Combined mileage about 6.9 miles, 2760 gain. Given the weather later this week, I expect they'll all be snowy now.

There are some hidden gems up there. I recently traveled the road all the way down to the Little Naches and 410 from that ridge and the fall colors were spectacular.
