For those that may not know the orientation of the 2 pass photos. They are looking SW to Cowboy Mtn. Here is a little history that I'vè read about the naming of Cowboy mtn. I believe it was named after a member of the survey crew that gathered the information needed to construct the existing 7 mile Cascade tunnel. Seems he either got lost, or decided to take a break from his work. Anyhow he was out of pocket for quite a while, then just walked out of the brush. I read this account when I belonged to the GN Historical Society.
